Storm Could Bring First Significant Rainfall Of The Season To Bay Area

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Many Bay Area residents woke up to unseasonably humid weather Thursday morning with that moisture turning into rainfall.

A few showers sprinkled the region Thursday morning, expected to end by the afternoon and turn into partly cloudy skies with highs in the 60s to mid 70s.

Hi-Def Doppler radar picked up a storm cell approaching the California Coast Wednesday morning.

Anything more than a trickle would be the first significant rainfall since April, according to NOAA records.

KPIX 5 Meteorologist Lawrence Karnow cautioned that the rainfall after months of dry conditions could release oil from local roadways, potentially making for dangerous driving conditions during the morning commute.
