Arizona Cardinals RB Johnathan Dwyer Arrested On Domestic Violence Charges

PHOENIX  (CBS SF) -- Arizona Cardinals running back Johnathan Dwyer has been arrested on domestic violence charges, according to published reports.

The report was first attributed to Tyler Baldwin of 3TV of Phoenix, who cited unnamed sources.

CBS News subsequently reported Dwyer was arrested on domestic violence charges, including aggravated assault and preventing someone from calling 911.

Dwyer's team is scheduled to host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.

Dwyer's arrest is the latest player incident adding the the National Football League's current crisis over player behavior and the league's handling of domestic violence and child abuse issues involving Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, Brandon Marshall, Greg Hardy and 49ers defensive lineman Ray McDonald.

The 49ers are facing criticism over allowing McDonald to play following his arrest for alleged domestic violence. He has not been charged with any crime.
