Mountain Lion That Crept Through South Bay Neighborhoods Hit, Killed By Car

MOUNTAIN VIEW (CBS SF) -- A mountain lion that caused a stir in Mountain View has been killed.

The cougar known as 46-M crept underneath a car in Mountain View earlier this year in May.  His GPS collar showed that he wandered the streets of Santa Clara for a few days before being spotted.

Animal control officers caught the cat and eventually released him.

On Friday, a car hit and killed the cat on I-280 near Redwood City.
