SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Let the national debate rage: can you be a dynasty while missing the playoffs twice in five years? The votes are in locally, where headlines celebrate a team that - like the 2012 version - refused elimination. Here's a recap of how the third San Francisco Giants title in five years was seen around the Bay Area and the rest of the nation.

Some of the larger local papers aren't shy. They're using the D-word with gusto, and why not? The Giants just became the first National League team to win three championships over a five year span since the 1940s. Let's call it what it is:
