Commercial Crab Fishermen Set Traps Ahead Of Saturday Season Opening

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Fresh Dungeness crab should be arriving in Bay Area stores and restaurants as early as Saturday evening or Sunday.

Commercial crab fishermen dropped their pots Friday morning at 6 o'clock, about 18 hours before the official start to the season.

Crabbers were able to agree on a wholesale price earlier in the week. Consumers can expect to pay about $6 per pound or more in local markets.
