BART Passenger Found Under Train At Embarcadero Station Taken To Hospital
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The Embarcadero BART station in San Francisco has reopened Tuesday after a person was reportedly under a train, transit agency officials said.
BART received reports of a person under a train at about 8:55 p.m.
The station at 298 Market St. was closed shortly before 9 p.m., BART officials said.
BART police and San Francisco fire crews responded to the scene, BART officials said.
The person was taken off the tracks and transported to a hospital, though BART officials did not have an update on the individual's condition.
During the closure, trains were running through the Embarcadero station but were not stopping there, BART officials said.
The station reopened shortly before 10:30 p.m., according to agency officials.
Passengers were advised to expect residual systemwide delays of five to 10 minutes due to station closures at the Embarcadero and Downtown Berkeley BART stations tonight.
The Downtown Berkeley BART station was closed from about 7 p.m. to 10:10 p.m. due to a person under the tracks who was pronounced dead at the scene, BART officials said.
