Australian Parents Publish Transgender Son's Birth Announcement 19 Years Later
(CBS SF) -- It's not everyday you see a birth announcement posted 19 years after the fact. But for two Australian parents, the unusual classified ad is about honoring their teenager who was born a girl but now identifies as a boy.
Originally published in The Courier-Mail, the light-hearted birth announcement is now making waves across Twitter. While the Brisbane couple intended the ad to be a special surprise for their transgender son, it's become a public statement for showing their 100-percent support.
The notice is listed more like a retraction and says:

In 1995 we announced the arrival of our sprogget, Elizabeth Anne, as a daughter. He informs us that we were mistaken. Oops! Our bad. We would now like to present our wonderful son Kai Bogert. Loving you is the easiest thing in the world. Tidy your room.
The post went viral on social media after it was tweeted on Monday night by a Quensland resident.
Kai Boggert, who was born Elizabeth Anne, said he was shocked by his mom's openness.
"I am so happy with what she has done. This last week has changed everything for me," he said. "I am still me but I am more me than I was a few days ago and feel free."
