Man Hospitalized After Being Shot During Raiders-49er Fan Dispute Outside San Jose Pub

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— A man who was shot outside a bar in downtown San Jose Sunday night is fighting for his life after an apparent dispute between 49ers and Raiders fans.

The shooting happened around 5:15 p.m. outside Brittania Arms Pub in downtown San Jose. Police responded and found at least one man suffering from at least one gunshot wound about a block away. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. As of Sunday night the victim was still in surgery.

Just before the shooting, fans were watching the Raiders-49ers game at the popular sports bar. A police sergeant told the San Jose Mercury News that the crime was, "game-related for sure."

Police have detained several men in connection to the shooting, but have not confirmed if any of them are suspects. Employees at the pub had no comment regarding the incident. It has been reported that the victim is a security guard.
