Cars Underwater In Daly City As Powerful Storm Pushes Through

DALY CITY (CBS SF) -- A powerful storm causing downed trees and flooded streets continues to ravage the Bay Area Thursday, with parts like Daly City taking an especially heavy beating.

The main thrust of the storm moved into the Bay Are before dawn and delivered more than four inches of rain before 9 a.m. in some locations, with as much as 10 inches expected in the final tally at the wettest locations.

Daly City is expected to see close to 4 inches of rain, but social media paints a more extreme picture of streets and cars underwater.

A flash flood warning was still in effect and there were many power outages as showers continued across the bay.

Daly City was not alone in terms of wild weather: Flooding was reported in the North Bay, and wind reached 135mph near Tahoe, where people were surfing on the lake.
