Daily Madden: 49ers And Seahawks Appear Headed In Opposite Directions
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)- The 49ers face a team Sunday that John Madden believes is the best in the NFL right now.
"Seattle is kind of coming into who we thought they were, who we thought they would be, and the 49ers aren't," Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew.
"If I had to pick a team - and it doesn't mean anything at all - but pick a team that's the best team in the NFL right now... I'd pick the Seattle Seahawks."
Madden said he'd be stunned if the 49ers beat the Seahawks in Seattle Sunday.
"You can talk about players being healthy, players being motivated and all that stuff. But one thing that you don't talk a lot about because no one want to talk about lack of it, and that's confidence."
The 49ers are 10-point underdogs.
"Especially offensively, the 49ers aren't playing with any confidence whatsoever. Then if you're going to get it, you have to get it in a game, and you better get it early in a game... That (Seattle) defense isn't going to let you do that." (6:35)
