Seattle Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll Is Glad To See Jim Harbaugh Leave The NFL

They clashed at both the college and the pro levels but now that Jim Harbaugh has left the 49ers and the NFC West, it appears he will not be missed by Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll.

Carroll and Harbaugh's history goes back to the then Pac-10, where Harbaugh's Stanford teams acted as a foil to Carroll's generally higher-ranked USC teams. Stanford took 2 out of three matches knocking off #2 ranked USC in 2007 and #11 ranked USC in 2009. Stanford's 2009 55 to 21 shellacking lead to the famous "What's Your Deal?" midfield exchange between the two.

Once the two lauded play-callers both moved to the NFL's NFC West, the tides favored Carroll slightly with 5 wins in 9 match-ups including an NFC Championship game win.

Now that Harbaugh has departed for University of Michigan, Carroll has given the coach what could be read as a begrudging nod of respect. The outspoken Carroll come just shy of 'good riddance.'
