VIDEO: Freak 'Tornado'-Like Gust Hits Rose Bowl, Spinning Vendors' Tents Through The Air

PASADENA (CBS SF) -- A freak wind gust spinning through the narrow canyon surrounding the Rose Bowl was caught on camera as people fled from the Fan Fest vendors' pop-up canopies, whipped by what felt like a "tornado."

The Pasadena Fire Department treated four people at the scene for minor injuries.

The powerful wind storm that ravaged Northern California and brought in frigid arctic temperatures is impacting the entire state, leading to unusual weather like this.

The winds here are not a tornado, despite what witnesses say on social media, but they do suggest circular wind patterns known as a dust devil that form in clear, sunny conditions. The National Weather Service confirmed the occurrence as a "cold dust devil."

The scene was caught on camera by a producer running Youtube channel, Adsport.
