The 12 Players You've Had To Cross Off Your A's Roster
OAKLAND (CBS SF) - The trade of John Jaso to the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend means that A's fans will likely be looking at a whole new starting infield for the 2015 season.
KCBS producer (and longtime A's fan) Nic Palmer has been tracking the movement and he's had to pull out his pen a dozen times to cross out players from last year's team photo.
Just to recap, here is who the A's have parted ways with - so far - this busy offseason (from top left):
Jason Hammel
Jeff Samardzija
Luke Gregerson
Jon Lester
Brandon Moss
Josh Donaldson
Jed Lowrie
John Jaso
Kyle Blanks
Derek Norris
Alberto Callaspo
Nick PUnto
Plus coaches:
Chili Davis
Chip Hale
Only closer Sean Doolittle and starter Scott Kazmir return from the league-leading six players the A's sent to the All-Star game last year. In August the A's were the winningest team in baseball. They eventually dropped to second place and were eliminated in a 1-game playoff by eventual AL champion Kansas City.
Do you think they'll make it deeper into the postseason next year?
