I Hear There Is 'Virga' In The Forecast...What Is That?

The latest computers are so frustrating when tracking the progression of the area of low pressure making tracks towards the Bay Area. One model suggests there is only a chance of rain north of the Golden Gate Bridge by Friday evening, another computer model indicates the system can sag farther south, producing as much as a quarter of an inch of rain around the region.
One thing is certain…bank on "Virga".
Virga is when ice crystals in clouds fall, but evaporate before hitting the ground. They appear as rain trails from clouds reaching for the surface, sometimes giving the cloud a "jellyfish-like" appearance.
