Raiders Fans In Los Angeles To Rally Again For Team To Move South

LOS ANGELES (CBS SF) – While the Oakland Raiders are committed to play at the O.co Coliseum for at least another season, fans of the team in Los Angeles are staging another rally supporting the idea of moving the team back to Southern California again.

According to Just Blog Baby, Saturday's rally will take place near the Los Angeles Coliseum, where the Raiders played from the 1982 to 1994 seasons. About 1,000 fans held another rally near the Staples Center last month.

The rally comes as the Saint Louis Rams are considering a move back to the Los Angeles area. The Oakland A's, who share the Coliseum with the Raiders, are also trying to find a new home.

Robert Cote, one of the campaign's organizers, told the blog, "We also want to make clear we are not trying to steal the Raiders out of Oakland. We are making sure LA is their first option if [the] city and the county in Oakland should fail to deliver a new stadium."

Last week, it appeared Oakland and Alameda County officials would allow both the A's and Raiders to submit competing proposals for stadiums on the Coliseum site.
