Bear Cubs Found Orphaned After Mom Hit By Car Finally Going Home

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE (CBS SF) -- Two orphaned bear cubs who watched their mother get hit by a car in June were released back into the wild Thursday.

Lake Tahoe Wildlife care in South Lake Tahoe took in the now 1-year-old cubs from the town of Bieber, a community about 55 miles northwest of Susanville. The cubs were found in good health, and grew substantially in the seven months they were cared for.

The brothers came in weighing near 20 pounds and left about 60 pounds larger.
