Fallen Tree Knocks Out Power For Over 2,000 Customers In Redwood City And Nearby Area
REDWOOD CITY (CBS SF) -- A fallen tree has knocked out power to slightly more than 2,000 customers Friday morning in Redwood City and North Fair Oaks, PG&E officials said.
The first report of the loss of power came in at 9:53 a.m. and outages have been reported along Middlefield Road from Chestnut Street in Redwood City to Dumbarton Avenue in North Fair Oaks.
"It is storm-related," said PG&E spokeswoman Nicole Liebelt.
The estimated time for restoration is 12:15 p.m., Liebelt said, but power could be restored before then. PG&E crews will have to remove the tree from the line and repair the line, and crews could find an alternate route to get power to customers before the broken line is repaired.
PG&E spokesman told KPIX 5 in an email that throughout the Bay Area about 1,600 PG&E personnel are responding to the storm and working to restore outages.
About 3,770 customers were affected as of 10 a.m. this morning, Stimmel said. That' includes about 100 San Francisco customers, 600 in the North Bay, 80 in the East Bay and 580 in the South Bay
