Sketch Released Of Suspect In Sexual Assault Of 10-Year-Old Boy In Oakland

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- The Oakland Police Department Sunday released a sketch of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old boy last month.

On Jan. 27, a 10-year-old boy was walking in the 1100 block of 98th Avenue around 3 p.m. when a stranger approached him, police said.

The stranger lured the boy to a nearby area and sexually assaulted him, according to police.

The boy was able to get away and tell his parents.

Police said the victim described his assailant as a Hispanic man, roughly 40 to 50 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a slender build, tan complexion, short salt and pepper hair and salt and pepper facial hair.

Police said he was last seen wearing a brown leather jacket and dark pants. He's described as having an unkempt appearance and possibly loiters in the area, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Youth and Family Services Division at (510) 238-3641 or the tip line at (510) 637-0298.
