After #NukeUCDavis Tweets, Roseanne Barr Brings Standup Act To San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Veteran comedian Roseanne Barr is coming to San Francisco for four dates at Cobbs Comedy club over the Valentine's Day weekend, but the veteran of stage and television has made it clear she isn't sending any valentines to the UC Davis student body this week.

The 62-year-old actress has been throwing flames at Twitter critics since she criticized the university for a student senate vote to divest from Israeli corporations and an apparent hate crime ad a Jewish fraternity nearby earlier this month with the following:

Since then, Barr has tweeted and re-tweeted dozens of times in defense of her statement, which she says was not a literal call to arms. Instead claiming there is institutionalized anti-Semitic thought on campus.

Barr - who actually ran for president as the Peace and Freedom party candidate in 2012 - has already made it clear she's not interested in hearing from those who don't approve of her comments:

Ahead of Friday evening's show, Barr spoke to KPIX 5's Joe Vazquez.

"That is totally mischaracterizing everything that it's about. You should read about what's going on there," Barr told KPIX 5.

"It was a huge ironic statement, of course. I don't have a nuclear weapon. I just want to assure the American people and the people of California: I don't have a nuclear weapon nor am I able to unleash it on people I don't agree with," Barr said.
