How The Heck Are They Keeping The Ice Cold At Levi's For The Sharks Game?

It's finally here! As a season ticket holder for the San Jose Sharks since 1991, I feel as I have waited for this day forever! Tomorrow (Saturday), at 7pm, the puck will drop at Levi's Stadium for the very first NHL outdoor hockey game in Northern California history.
And I can't wait! I feel like a kid at Christmas!
So here are a few questions I have been asked in recent days:
Q: Won't the ice melt here in California?
A: No. The ice is maintained to stay at 22 degrees throughout the entire play of the game.
Q: How much water is used to create the ice?
A: Approximately 10,000 Gallons of water is used to create an inch of ice
Q: How thick is the ice?
A: The ice in most NHL arenas is about 1 inch thick.
Q: How many gallons of paint is used to mark the ice?
A: 350 gallons of paint is used just to make the ice rink white!
Q: Who are the Sharks playing?
A: The Sharks are playing host to their rivals, The Los Angeles Kings.
Q: Does the game count in the Regular Season Standings?
A: Oh yes. And it will be a battle. As of right now, the Sharks are only 2 points up on the Kings for the final playoff spot.
Q: How many times have the Sharks played the Kings in the past 5 years.
A: The Sharks and Kings have met 41 times since the start of the 2010-11 season. There is no love lost. The Kings came back from three games down last year to win their playoff series 4-3 before eventually claiming the Stanley Cup.
Q: Will you be there Roberta?
A: Yes! And I am super excited!
