Police Arrest Armed Man Who Fled Officers By Jumping From Roof To Roof In Presidio
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco police officers arrested a man who allegedly tried to flee from police by jumping from roof to roof near the Presidio after pulling a gun during an argument, a police spokeswoman said.
Police were called at 11:26 a.m. after an argument near the corner of Baker and Lombard streets escalated and a man pulled out a gun, police spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatpandan said.
When officers arrived the man ran from them and they chased him.
He tried to escape by climbing to a roof and jumping from roof to roof with officers in pursuit.
Eventually he went down and entered a building in the 3000 block of Baker Street. Police et up a perimeter in the area and used police dogs to flush out the suspect, Gatpandan said.
He was taken into custody at about 12:15 p.m. Streets then reopened in the area, but police remain there searching for evidence he may have left behind as he fled, Gatpandan said.
The suspect has not been identified.
