Amber Alert Canceled After SoCal Baby Found Safe

Update As Of 8:30 p.m. Monday: Family says detectives tell them the 1-year-old boy, who was the subject of an Amber Alert, has been found safe. Relatives also report that the child's father has been taken into custody. No further details were immediately available.

LOS ANGELES (CBS SF) -- A statewide Amber Alert has been activated for a one-year-old boy believed abducted by his father in Los Angeles.

Police say Giovany Santiago-Enriquez attacked the child's mother and stabbed her boyfriend at the woman's home in San Pedro, a community within Los Angeles, before fleeing with the child.

Jayden Santiago is 24" tall, weighing 26 pounds with black hair, and brown eyes. He was last seeing wearing a light brown and green sweater, green and brown striped onesie, and black and white Nike shoes.

Santiago-Enriquez is 37 years old, 5-foot-8 and weighs 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, black sweater, black Dickies pants and gray and black Nike shoes.

Police said Santiago-Enriquez has made suicidal threats and has attempted suicide in the past. He could be traveling to Mexico, Oregon or Washington where he has known contacts.

Santiago-Enriquez is considered armed and dangeroues. He was last seen driving a grey 2006 Nissan Altima with license plate 5UCF010.
