Magnitude 2.5 Quake Rattles Gilroy, Morgan Hill

SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.5 was recorded Saturday morning in Santa Clara County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor was reported at 7:40 a.m. about 5 miles northeast of Gilroy and 11 miles east-southeast of Morgan Hill, USGS officials said.

The earthquake had a depth of about 4 miles, according to USGS officials.
