Throughout this entire week, stories are emerging of Johnson's warmth, kindness and dedication as a public servant.

Angela Tirado says he talked to her son once, and helped steer him away from a life of gangs.

"I would say that he saved my son's life," Tirado said. "Just like he saved the lives of everybody everyday when he puts on that uniform and puts on that badge."

Tirado will be singing Amazing Grace during the funeral.

Johnson was fatally shot after responding to a call of a suicidal man from an apartment on Senter Road on the evening of March 24th. The gunman was fatally shot when officers returned fire.

Coverage of Johnson's memorial begins at 10 a.m. on KPIX 5 and will be live streamed on CBSSF.com.
