Woman Followed, Attacked By Group Of Girls After Shushing Them On Muni Bus In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A woman was attacked by a group of three teenage girls who followed her onto the street after a confrontation about noise on a Muni bus Wednesday night.

The 55-year-old woman told KPIX 5 she was followed off the bus and beaten by the girls after asking them to quiet down while riding the 21-Hayes line bus.

The girls followed the woman and attacked her when she exited the bus at a stop at Ninth and Market Streets, where KPIX 5 reporter Mark Kelly was working on another story.

"My photographer and I were just wrapping up a different story when just one block away we heard the screams," Kelly said.

One girl kicks, a second punches and the whole time one man does his best to get the girls off the woman. The suspects then ran, using the Civic Center's BART as their chance to blend into the crowd and get away.

The woman is expected to be okay. She told KPIX she's strong and will be all right.
