Lucasfilm Makes 7-Year-Old Casanova's Day By Changing Jedi Code

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - The rules for becoming a Jedi may have been established long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away, but one convincing 7-year-old charmer has just forced a change.

A 7-year-old boy named Colin hand wrote a letter to George Lucas asking for a rule change that would allow Jedi knights to wed.

"I don't like that a Jedi cannot get married. I want to get married without becoming a Sith. Please change the rule," reads the letter sent to Lucas.

To Colin's surprise, the production company responded with a rule change, telling him "To be a Jedi is to truly know the value of friendship, of compassion and of loyalty, and these values are important in marriage.

Here's the video of him reading the full letter after receiving the package:

Colin's family, which lives in Sacramento,  has written "the lovely people at LucasFilm" to to thank them for responding to Colin, who took the update to heart.

"He is excited, in fact, I got a letter home asking me to tell him to stop proposing to girls in his class," Colin's mother wrote.
