16-Year-Old Antioch Girl Stabbed Multiple Times In Melee Expected To Survive

ANTIOCH (CBS SF) -- A 16-year-old girl, who was stabbed multiple times Saturday afternoon following a fight in Antioch, is expected to survive, police said.

Officers responded at 2:51 p.m. to multiple reports of a group of people fighting in the 500 block of West 18th Street, police said.

Witnesses told police that a car occupied by some males and at least one female stopped in the road and that the people inside the car got into a physical fight with a group of pedestrians, according to police.

Police said that sometime during the melee, someone stabbed a 16-year-old girl multiple times.

Medical personnel transported her to a hospital and police said her wounds are not considered life-threatening.

The suspects reportedly returned to their car, described as a light-colored four-door Honda Civic, and left the area.
