Trailer For 'Steve Jobs' Movie As Elusive As Jobs Was Himself

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The trailer for "Steve Jobs" tells us very little about the movie. The 60-second clip has the same elusive quality the real Steve Jobs had in life.

Cue violins. A theatre. Michael Fassbinder (in the role of Jobs), his back to the camera. The image slowly closes. A stream of consciousness narrates.

"At nine-forty one the planet's going to shift on its axis forever ... the 2 most significant events in the planet's history -- the allies win the war and this..."

"The musicians play the instruments, I play the orchestra..."

"I sat in a garage and invented the future..."

"No one sees the world the same way you do..."

Credits. Black.

That's about it.

What we do know about this hometown production is that it was shot in Berkeley, Cupertino and San Francisco. There were casting calls for extras with big 80s hair and old cars. So, the movie will be a period piece.

Aaron Sorkin whose credits include The Social Network, The West Wing and The Newsroom, is tasked with recreating the genius of Jobs on film. He has a knack for translating the minds and actions of really smart people.

Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Transpotting) directs. Kate Winslet plays Joanna Hoffman and Seth Rogan plays Steve Wozniak.

Steve Jobs opens in theatres October 9.
