Comcast Users Report Widespread Outage In San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Comcast customers reported a widespread service outage lasting up to an hour or more in the San Francisco and Seattle areas Monday night by taking to Twitter to voice their displeasure with the TV and internet service provider.

Customers began noting the outage on Twitter shortly just before prime time began in Seattle and San Francisco.

Rick Eames tweeted "@comcast, what happened in 98074 tonight? No internet, no voice, spotty TV, and the 800# won't recognize the number YOU PROVIDE. #fail."

Vincent Staupe simply tweeted "Damn you Comcast!!"

Tanmaya Hobbs tweeted "I hate you Comcast.  It's Harry Potter week and my internet and TV go out."

But, the service was being restored to some households.

Nicolo tweeted "Looks like Xfinity is coming back.  S l o w l y . Thanks Comcast."

The Seattle Times reported that Comcast engineers had resolved the issue behind the widespread outage, but some customers in that area were still without service as of 11 p.m.
