San Jose Police Looking For A Few Good Women

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- San Jose's police force is looking for a few good women to bolster the sagging ranks of the department.

The number of female officers has fallen to just 88, down from a high of 139 just seven years ago.

This week, the department will hold a free seminar that will include mock interviews and agility tests.

The idea is to let prospective female recruits learn about joining the force.

The symposium will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the department's substation on Great Oaks Parkway.
