West Valley College Campus Reopens After Police Shutdown Over Suspected Gun; Trapped Students Tweet During Lockdown
SARATOGA (CBS SF) -- The campus of West Valley College in Saratoga was closed Wednesday morning because of police suspected someone brought a gun on campus.
The college reopened around 9:30 a.m. and administrators posted a message to students:
- The WVMCCD PD has given the "all clear." The campus is now open. All classes and activities can resume. Thank you for your patience.
WVC is currently in session for the summer and campus officials were trying keeping everyone off campus. However, tweets reveal that some unfortunate students were stuck inside their classrooms during the lockdown:
Three calls, four emails, and two texts later, apparently there is a gunman on my college campus. Whelp.
