Parents Protest Against Vaccine Law At Golden Gate Bridge; Vow To Overturn It In 2016

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Over a hundred parents with their children marched across the Golden Gate Bridge to protest California's new mandatory vaccine law.

The rally started shortly after 12 p.m. to demand the repeal of SB 277, which Gov. Jerry Brown signed earlier this week.

Parents holding signs that say "I'm the mom, I call the shot" and "My kids, my choice" said they vow to overturn it in the 2016 election.

The new law requires every child in school to be vaccinated regardless of personal beliefs.

Several cities across the state are holding similar rallies on Friday.

SB 277 was introduced after an outbreak of measles at Disneyland in December infected over 100 people in the U.S. and Mexico.

California joins Mississippi and West Virginia as the only states with such strict requirements.
