Small Earthquake Strikes Santa Clara-Alameda County Border Overnight
MILPITAS (CBS) - A small earthquake rattled parts of the South Bay early Monday.
The Magnitude 2.4 earthquake hit at 12:32 a.m. with an epicenter about six miles northeast of Milpitas.
No injuries or damage were immediately reported.
Earthquakes are common in the region, which lies on the "Ring of Fire" — an arc of earthquake and volcanic activity that stretches around the Pacific Rim.
