Warriors' Curry, Kerr Honored At ESPY Awards

(CBS SF) – Nearly one month after the Golden State Warriors won their first NBA title in four decades, NBA MVP Stephen Curry and coach Steve Kerr received ESPY Awards on Wednesday.

Curry won the Best Male Athlete award, beating out LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers and two football players, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans.

The current NBA MVP also won the Best NBA Player ESPY over James, Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans, James Harden of the Houston Rockets and Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Kerr, the Warrior's first-year head coach, was recognized with the Best Coach / Manager ESPY, beating out several coaching legends, including Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski and UConn coach Geno Auriemma.

Former Cal swimmer Missy Franklin also won an ESPY during Wednesday's ceremony. The four-time Olympic gold medalist was awarded Best Female College Athlete.
