MODESTO (KPIX 5 ) -- UPDATE 7-19-15: Police arrest person of interest in San Jose.

Police in Modesto have named a person of interest who is likely armed and dangerous, in the case of five people found dead inside a Modesto home.

It is not clear how Martinez is connected to the murder of the five people found dead inside the home on Nob Hill Court.

Police made the gruesome discovery around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon when officers came by for a security check.

It all started when Modesto police got a call from someone asking them do a routine welfare check at the home.

When police arrived they discovered the 5 bodies. They were all pronounced dead at the scene and not transported to the hospital.

At this point, police have not revealed the identities of those killed or the cause of death, but police are saying among the dead are 2 adults and 3 children.

One neighbor told KPIX 5 the family kept to themselves and was inside most of the time and they wouldn't have recognized their faces if they saw them.

As for the person of interest, Martinez, police said not to approach him.

"We do have 5 deceased in the home in Modesto so I would definitely say he's dangerous and if (he is) seen or if known where he is, definitely call 911."

Meantime, the street remains cordoned off while the investigation continues. Police need to do a thorough search of the house on Nob Hill Court. They will likely remain there until Sunday morning.
