VIDEO: Mom Gives Birth To 10 Pound Baby In Front Seat Of Van

HOUSTON (CBS SF) -- An expectant couple couldn't get to the hospital fast enough this weekend, so their baby came into the world on the road.

It took just 4 minutes for the 10 pound 3 ounce newborn to pop out in the front seat of the van. Mom grabbed him and held him in her hands. Proud poppa grabbed his GoPro and caught it all on video.

Jon Pettijohn posted the birth on YouTube Saturday, and so far it has been viewed almost 9 million times.

"I was probably freaking out way more than I should have. But I really didn't want to have him in the car," said Lesia Pettijohn, the baby's mom. "I was scared. I didn't know if he'd be breathing OK."

The couple was on their way for Bay Area Birthing Center – not in Northern California – in Pasadena, Texas!.

Jon said he kept driving because they didn't have cell phone service to call anyone, according to the Texas-based website, The Facts.

Lesia said her husband surprised her when he said, "We did it babe -- high five!"

Then he held his hand up to actually give her the high five.

"I was like, 'I don't really want to give you a high five.' My hand was all bloody, so I gave him a backward high five. I was just thinking, 'I can't believe that just happened,'" she said.

Turns out, mom and baby are in perfect health and doing fine.

The Pettijohns named their baby Josiah.
