Police Investigating Stabbing Death At Former San Jose Homeless Encampment

SAN JOSE (KCBS) -- San Jose police were investigating a homicide in what used to be the notorious Jungle homeless encampment.

According to authorities, a man was stabbed overnight.

Officers responded to the area on Story and Senter Road after receiving a report that one person was dead. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from at least one stab wound.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity will not be released until the coroner notifies the next of kin.

There is no word as to what led to the death.

The area known as the Jungle was once home to as many as 300 homeless people. The city shut it down several months ago.
