Heat Wave: When Can We Expect Triple-Digit Temperatures?

(CBS SF) -- Warm weather is on tap for the Bay Area and it won't be long before some place see triple digit temperatures this week.

Expect a blast of sunshine with clear visibility if you're heading to the beach on Labor Day.  Beachgoers are also warned about strong rip currents and sneaker waves from the Sonoma Coast to Santa Cruz.

Air quality will be compromised as the Bay Area is gearing up for a prolonged heat wave beginning Monday.

"We have not experienced anything like this the whole summer," said KPIX 5 Weather Anchor Roberta Gonzales. "It's generally a one or three day heat wave."

The Tri-Valley and other inland communities could see triple digits temperatures as early as Tuesday and until this weekend.
