Heat Prompts South Bay School District To Let Over 7,000 Students Go Home Early

CAMPBELL (CBS SF) -- The heatwave hitting the Bay Area has prompted a school district in the South Bay to let more than 7,000 students go home early for the next two days because classrooms aren't equipped with air conditioning.

The Campbell union High School District will let students go home at noon Wednesday and Thursday.

The Superintendent says he made the decision because the classrooms don't have air conditioning.

There is no word on if students will be let out early on Friday.
