Roberta Asks, 'Which Bay Area Beach Helps You Beat The Heat?'

KPIX 5 Morning Weather Anchor Roberta Gonzales answers the questions you never get to ask on-air.

How hot is it? It is so hot, it is hotter in Pleasanton today at 105 degrees than in Palm Springs where it is forecasted to hit 102. It is also dry. The relative humidity will drop to 7 percent in many of our Inland locations (which is Desert dry!).

I asked our Facebook friends, when the Bay Area experiences a heatwave, what is their beach of choice? Here is a sampling of Facebook friends' recommendations!

Josh Bernstein: Best kept secret is the beautiful beach at Treasure Island.

Charlie Hodges-Sheets:  Outback in my swimming pool

Kathy Trabue Weiss: It's a secret!

Johnny Fein: Sonoma Coast. Specifically any beach north of Bodega Bay.

Tim Crawford: Barrow Beach, Alaska 30 degrees this morning

Staci Morgan: Pacifica. Just fun and stunning.

Richard Brehm: Sunset Beach, Watsonville

Megan Grimm: Kanapali Beach, Maui!

John Deaton: Carmel-By-The-Sea

Lisa M Chiolis: Bodega Bay for sure!!!!! Or Jenner is usually fairly cool as well.  Ocean beach in SF has great sand dollars!

Denise Jones: Natural Bridges, Santa Cruz!

Shelly M. Buller:  Montara State Beach! We can take the dog and it's clean. Worth the drive from Santa Clara.

Joseph Escobar: Lake Merrit. I like to sit and watch the people.

Thank you for your feedback! Stay cool everyone! We stil have all the way until Sunday to "beat the heat!"

I would love to hear from you! Please send weather questions, observations and photos to me, Gonzales@kpix.cbs.com and I look forward to hearing from you!
