Oakland Pays $15,000 To Nurses' Assistant For Jean Quan Car Crash

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- The city of Oakland has settled with the woman who got into a car accident with then-mayor Jean Quan.

The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting the city will pay Lakisha Lovely $15,000.

Lovely, a nurses' assistant in San Francisco, alleged in a lawsuit that she sustained severe bodily injury because Quan was on the phone and speeding when she slammed into Lovely's Nissan in 2014.

Lovely alleges that Quan is guilty of malice and her actions "show a conscious disregard of the rights and safety of others and are contemptible, vile and despicable."

Quan has denied the claim and said she isn't to blame for Lovely's injuries.
