Uber CEO Heckled On Late Show With Stephen Colbert
NEW YORK (CBS SF) -- Stephen Colbert's interview with Uber CEO Travis Kalanick Thursday night came with an unexpected twist -- a protester.
The incident didn't make air, but audience members say during the interview, a man seated in the balcony interrupted to say that Uber is "destroying full time professional taxi jobs."
Colbert asked Kalanick how he responds to that claim.
"In the Uber world, you can use your own car," he said. "You don't pay $40,000 to rent a vehicle, you make more money per hour and it's flexible. You don't have a shift. You can turn on your work when you want to, and turn it off. Want to pick up your kids from school? Turn it off."
Colbert also made light of the situation by saying the protester was actually "his cousin."
