Back-To-Back Earthquakes Strike Coast Range Northeast Of Willits - 3rd Such Quake In Two Days
MENLO PARK (CBS SF) -- Two shallow earthquakes were reported Saturday morning 22 miles from Rancho Tehama Reserve in the eastern Coast Range west of Orland, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The first temblor with a magnitude of 3.4 struck at 6:11 a.m at a depth of 2.5 miles.
That earthquake was followed 14 minutes later by a magnitude 3.3. quake at the same location.
The epicenter for both events is 36 miles from Red Bluff and 51 miles from Ukiah.
A magnitude 2.9 quake centered in the same area struck Thursday night.
