Google Executive Buys Palo Alto Home For Record $30 Million
PALO ALTO (CBS SF) -- A landmark Palo Alto home has been purchased for a whopping $30 million by a Google executive.
The Palo Alto Daily Post reported the price tag is the most ever paid for a house in the city, home to some of the nation's most expensive real estate.
Google Chief Financial Officer Ruth Porat bought the home, which is an 83-year-old residence designed originally for Levi Strauss heir and philanthropist Lucie Stern, according to preservation group Palo Alto Stanford Heritage.

The 4,721-square foot colonial-style house sold was sold in 1978 for about $1 million, but has sat vacant for decades, according the Daily Post.
