1 Person Hospitalized After Brawl, Shooting In Santa Rosa Park

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- At least one person was injured and taken to a hospital following a fight involving several people at a Santa Rosa park Sunday.

Around 5:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of possible gunshots fired at Julliard Park, located at 227 Santa Rosa Plaza, according to police.

As officers were responding, officers learned that one person had been injured and driven to a hospital.

Officers also learned a large fight, involving numerous people, had occurred in the park, police said.

Officers were able to locate the victim at the hospital. The victim suffered a single laceration to the back of their head, according to police.

Officers determined the victim had not been shot, police said.

Officers searched the area near the park and located several people who had been involved in the fight. Police briefly detained and released the group, according to police.

Police did not make any arrests in the case and no suspects have been identified.

The victim has since been treated for their injuries and has been released from the hospital, police said.

Police were not able to determine what type of weapon was used to assault the victim.

The fight did not appear to be gang-related, according to police.
