Injury Reports: 15 Hobbled Players Listed In Raiders And Browns NFL Week 3 IRs

By Abraham Gutierrez

The (1-1) Oakland Raiders will try and keep the good times rolling by stringing together the first win streak of the 2015 NFL season. However, Jack Del Rio and the Silver and Black will try and accomplish this feat against the Cleveland Browns sans the services of two defensive players.

According to the team's (final) NFL Week 3 injury report, Oakland has ruled out defensive end Benson Mayowa due to knee problems and defensive tackle Justin Ellis because of an injured ankle. Mayowa will have to wait at least another week to make his 2015 season debut, while Ellis started in the opener against the Bengals, but did not get on the board.

"We have to, certainly, understand who we have (available)," said Raiders defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. "Guys are stepping in, next man up. We're going in the right direction."

The good news for Raider Nation is that, although there were two additional players from the defensive unit penciled in on this list, they both should be able to play. After having full participation in practice, Del Rio categorized safety Charles Woodson (shoulder) and defensive end Justin Tuck (knee) as probable to assume their usual roles Sunday afternoon in Cleveland.

In two starts, Woodson is fourth on the team with 11 tackles, while Tuck has tallied nine tackles of his own, along with a pair of defended passes. Even though the former Heisman Trophy winner is expected to play, there were some questions surrounding the status of the 32-year-old lineman out of Notre Dame.

"He'll be ready to go," Norton said of Tuck after he missed Wednesday's practice. "He's just a little bit older than he was before. It takes a little bit longer. He's a competitor. He'll be ready to go."

Wrapping things up for the visitors, there's one more player listed in the Raiders Week 3 NFL injury report, as running back Jamize Olawale is questionable. The third-year man out of North Texas was able to participate on a limited basis during this week's practices, nursing an injured ankle.

For the hosting Browns, head coach Mike Pettine and his staff put together a Week 3 injury report that's made up of 10 players. As it turns out, Cleveland will try and defend its home turf with running back Robert Turbin and linebacker Scott Solomon the sidelined with ankle injuries.
