Man Accused Of Cellphone Peeping On Palo Alto Woman Turns Self In

PALO ALTO (CBS SF) -- A 22-year-old man who allegedly photographed a woman while she was in a bathroom at her Palo Alto home more than two months ago turned himself in Monday, police said Wednesday.

Norbu Norbu, of Palo Alto, was arrested on a warrant after he turned himself in at the police station shortly after noon Monday, police said.

Around 6:30 p.m. on July 21, officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at a home in the 400 block of Grant Avenue, police said.

The victim, a woman in her 50s, reported that she noticed a cellphone aimed in her direction outside a bathroom window after she took a shower and clothed herself, according to police.

Investigators were able to identify Norbu as the suspect and took a statement from him that same night, police said.

The case was reviewed by the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office, which filed a misdemeanor charge of peeping against Norbu, according to police.

Investigators do not suspect Norbu is connected with a similar case on June 12 around 10 p.m. in the 300 block of Olive Avenue, according to police.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call police dispatch at (650) 329-2413. Anonymous tips can be sent by email to paloalto@tipnow.org or by text message or voicemail to (650) 383-8984.
