Emilia Clarke Named Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive

(CBS LOCAL) – She is Daenerys Targaryen, aka Khaleesi, aka Mother of Dragons on the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. In September 2015, GQ Magazine proclaimed her Woman of The Year 2015. On Tuesday, 28-year-old Emilia Clarke can add Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive to her list of titles.

Clarke adorns Esquire's front page, tastefully in the nude with more seductive photos of her inside while Esquire writer Benjamin Markovits tells Clarke's tale.

In an email, Lisa Hintelmann, Esquire's editorial projects director said "Emilia Clarke is unforgettable in 'Game of Thrones' and was hands down the number one choice of Esquire's staff, friends and family," and Hintelmann said Clarke was "an all-around favorite".

Outside of Game of Thrones, Clarke took on the coveted role of Sarah Connor in Termintor: Genisys along side former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. She also has two upcoming films hitting the big screen. The "Hitchcockian" thriller Voice from the Stone and Me Before You where she plays Louisa Clark, a small town girl who forms an unlikely bond with a recently-paralyzed man she's taking care of.
