More Than A Dozen Small Quakes Rattle San Ramon On Anniversary Of Loma Prieta Quake

SAN RAMON (KPIX 5) -- The timing of the quake swarm that continues to rattle the Calaveras Fault in San Ramon coincides one of the most disastrous earthquakes in the Northern California history.

At least 15 quakes struck on Saturday, the anniversary of the deadly 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Sixty-three people were killed when that temblor struck in the middle of rush hour.

The recent quake swarm began on Tuesday. Dozens of small quakes have rattled the area. The largest quake on Saturday had a magnitude of 2.9.

There have been no reports of injuries or damages.
