Man Suspected Of Trying To Lure Young Napa Teens Into His Car Identified
NAPA (CBS SF) -- Napa police have identified a man who is suspected of trying to lure young teenage girls into his vehicle near schools in St. Helena and Napa, a police lieutenant said.
The suspect, Eduardo Calixto, 29, of Napa, was identified as the owner of the tan, gold or brown sedan described by the girls, and he admitted asking at least 15 girls if they wanted a ride, Lt. Debbie Peecook said.
There were 11 instances between July and October where a Hispanic man in his 30s or 40s who spoke English with an accent targeted girls between 12 and 17 years old who were walking to or from school in the morning or afternoon, Peecook said.
Sometimes the victim circled back and asked the girls their name, and three or four girls accepted a ride from Calixto, Peecook said. Police issued a community alert on Sept. 18 about the incidents.
Police found a 1999 faded silver/gold Toyota Corolla and identified and interviewed Calixto, Peecook said.
St. Helena police have not arrested Calixto and he was not listed as an inmate at the Napa County jail as of Thursday morning.
A report requesting the filing of multiple charges against Calixto for annoying a child under age 18 has been sent to the Napa County District Attorney's Office, Peecook said.
